United Arab Emirates – Emirate of Dubai: In collaboration with the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Corporation “Ektifa,” Union Coop has introduced new organic products, including Meliha dairy items and “Sabaa Sanabel” flour, in response to growing demand. These products will be available daily at several of its branches across Dubai, aligning with the Coop’s goal of providing fresh products to customers and supporting “Ektifa’s” strategy to expand into new markets and meet the local demand for organic goods.

“Agriculture Department” Explores Strengthening Strategic Partnership with Economic Development and Sharjah Municipality

His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, emphasized that strengthening strategic partnerships between government entities contributes to providing safe and sustainable solutions that support Sharjah’s food security system—considered one of the most vital enablers of sustainable development in the emirate. This came during his meeting with H.E. Hamad bin Ali Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, and Fahad Al Khumairi, Director of the Department, in the presence of H.E. Salem Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of the Agriculture and Livestock Department, and Khalid Falah, Assistant Director General for Customer Service Sector at Sharjah Municipality, along with several department directors. The meeting aimed to enhance partnerships and cooperation in line with the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to elevate government services and facilitate procedures to encourage citizen investment in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

“Ektifa” Harvests the First Yields of Natural Honey at Al-Muntathar Reserve in Sharjah

Dr. Eng. Sharjah Launches “Baba Sultan Ambassadors for Healthy Food” Program

The Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock, in collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority, launched the “Baba Sultan Ambassadors for Healthy Food” program aimed at raising awareness about the importance of healthy eating among the community and school students. This initiative reflects the Department’s ongoing efforts to instill positive dietary behaviors in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. The program seeks to promote proper dietary practices through awareness of healthy nutrition and support for safe and organic options, contributing to a supportive environment for healthy and safe food choices. The launch ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, H.E. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and H.E. Ali Al Hosani, Director of the Authority, along with a number of department directors from both entities, reflecting the strong partnership and collaboration to support nutritional health in the emirate.
